I enjoyed visiting the major landmarks. Such as the Basillique Notre Dame la Garde and Palais Longchamps.
I had may meals at the many restaraunts around the Veux Port
I walked everywhere.
I would get advice from the hotel about what areas to avoid.
When visiting Marseille, it would be better to with someone or in a group.

I felt insecured whole the time since on first day upon our arrival we were robbed. The police is clueless. Sure, they will help you draft the report but that's it and good luck claiming insurance on your stolen items. There are pawn shops about every 5 meters selling mobile phones, tablets etc. as if there such demand for electronics in Marseille. We witnessed few robberies during our stay which is quite shocking for the fact we've been only 2 nights in Marseille. We noticed the immigrants (they don't speak French) are approaching to you at a almost touching distance - ALL THE TIME - not missing any opportunity to steal from you, whether it be the zebra crossing, at the harbour, and so on. Later we found out that Marseille is the second most dangerous city in Europe, we can count ourself lucky, to leave that stinky place physically unscathed.
NEVER EVER going back there!!!!!!!!!! Go to Italy or Spain, not saying that there is no pickpocketings but surely feels more safer than Marseille.

We weren't impressed with the city; unfortunately, many places are neglected and dirty, with a significant number of people sleeping on the streets. We felt rather unsafe. The landmarks are impressive; however, the overall surroundings are not as charming.

Marseille is a beautiful city, if a little scruffy and rundown. It is fairly easy to get around although the main station is difficult to access. Most places are walkable but I would recommend using the Tourist train to access the Notre Dame de la Garde.
There are some stunning modern museums but several were partially closed whilst I was there. I would particularly recommend the Cosquer museum with its stunning recreation of the Cosquer cave and its 30,000 year old art. (Tip - buy an advance ticket or turn up early to avoid queuing).
There are plenty of restaurants and bars lining the Old Port, with seafood an obvious mainstay - the bouillabaisse is excellent!

Marseille is a wonderful French city with many sights and history. It is good to visit the main churches, the palace and the museums in it - Notre Dame de la Garde, Marseille Cathedral, Palais Longchamp, . There are many well-preserved architectural monuments, the old town, the natural history museum, the port, etc. Around the harbor there are many restaurants, some of which you can come across wonderful fish delicacies, such as Bouillabaisse and others.
The city cannot boast of enviable cleanliness, as well as the discipline of motor vehicle drivers and pedestrians.

Very interesting place. Centre of the city beatiful.
Very interesting place. Centre of the city beatiful. Prices very high in Vieux Port but in other places reasonable. Good communication with metro and trams. You have to be aware of going to some quarters of city.
Location was exactly what we needed. We arrived at Marseille airport in Vitrolles after 11pm. We were able to catch one of the local shuttles to Saint Charles Railway Station --the shuttles run well into the night and are way less expensive than the unlicensed taxis outside the airport terminal. Once we arrived at St.Charles station, it only took us 5 minutes or less to walk to the hotel in spite of the heavy luggage. Location was the main advantage for us, but the facilities and breakfast were good, too, and personnel was helpful.
We had a beautiful stay! Cedric was super helpful in messaging us and delivering the keys and he also shared a lot of tips of activities to do around.
The studio matches the photos, it is a little studio but a very good location (5 min walking to the Beach of Catalans), and 30 min walking to the Vieux Port (nice and pleasant walk).
There was also a fan which turned out to be super helpful due to the heat in Marseille :)
Facilities were super clean!
Thank you Cedric for your warm welcome :)
Very well located, next to supermarket, coffee bar, restaurants, beach, and bus-stop with direct link to the train station. Not far from the Vieux Port and Cours Honoré-d'Estienne-d'Orves, a nice going-out area. Very well equipped, including basic food staff which you usually need in the beginning although it is not worth to buy a whole package (salt, olive oil, pasta, ...) Nice design. Beautiful view on a cosy square.
Breakfast was excellent as was location. Short walk to Vieux Port frontage with huge choice of restaurants and boat trips to bay, Chateau D'If etc. Hotel is adjacent major shops and markets and easy walk to the old town (Le Panier), Cathedral Major and Palais Longchamp. More strenuous but relatively easy walk up the Notre Dame de la Garde which is a must see.
A great location in walking distance (15 min) to the Vieux Port.
If you travel by car you might be aware that parking in Marseille can be a tad risky (burglaries are common), and even public car parks are not safe. So key is a hotel with its own parking, which you find here.
Breakfast is buffet style, and quite good.
Le Panier Enchanté is located in the middle of Le Panier neighborhood, an artistic, local & alternative area of Marseille: one can find very nice shops & restaurants, this is also super close to Mucem (10min walk) and the Vieux Port
Otherwise, the suite is well furnished & equipped, it is spacious and light
Location to station and vieux port are good, and kitchen facilities help as eating out in Marseille can get pricey especially near the port.
It was good to have the flexibility to cook in the apartment but also go out for a meal as lots of restaurants are nearby (walking distance)
Man thanks to the very friendly and helpful staff!
The hotel is very near to Gare Saint Charles of Marseille and the station of the bus to the airport.
The room to courtyard was quite.
Breakfast was good.
The room incl. bathroom was very clean.
Value for money is top.
the location is awesome,
Ⓜ️🚍1min from the metro 1, and from the bus stop
🌊you have the vieux port view
🥐we took our breakfast at 1860 palais, just next to the hotel with the sea view
💬the staff were friendly, and helpful
🔍loved the interior, aesthetic and clean
Outstanding. Immaculate, comfortable, quiet, superb breakfast, and 5 min from métro to train station, less than 10 to Vieux Port. The special price on Booking.com (requiring prepayment) was well worth having to pay early.
This hotel was excellent. It's location very close to Vieux Port and to restaurants and cafes was simply excellent. The staff were professional, the room was clean and quiet. I would easily recommend this place again.
Ben from reception was very friendly and welcoming and all other staff where nice. The hotel in the Vieux Port area of Marseille right near the entrance to the metro so very easy to get to. comfortable room.
The location is good you can walk around Marseille without using any public transport close to restaurants, cafe and bar.
The Hotel is opposite the Vieux Port .
And the swimming pool is a bonus.
The hotel was well located close to the Vieux Port, comfortable and the staff was friendly. Rooms were also a good size and bag storage was allowed after checking out which was very convenient.
